Some reviews from writers who have attended the courses...
Celia - Totnes
Thank you for Saturday morning, I found it helpful and very interesting. I'm not a novel writer, my imagination simply doesn't go into novel construction, but nonetheless your class on prose was really good - I learnt some and lots was reaffirmed. What struck me too was how at one stage you described the layout a piece of prose exactly as I would compose a photograph! It made a huge amount of sense to me - to lead the viewer/reader from one focal length to another and draw them in closer - brilliant!
Tracy - Newton Abbot
I have attended a number of Benedicts' courses over the last two years. Each week I was totally engaged and confident that what I was being shown was 'top notch' material. I now have hope that I will be able to produce a far more interesting read. Would highly recommend Benedict's Course to anyone wanting to improve their craft.

Being able to produce effective and impacting creative writing is a challenge - it's a difficult art to master.
Tony - Newton Abbot I have watched my novel transform from a trudging tale into a story I feel proud to have written. Nick - Wolborough Hill I hadn't realised how fundamental my needs were: whether developing exposition or imagery; characterisation or viewpoint, this course wasn't about providing 'writing hints', it was about providing a thoroughly invigorating challenge to us of how to best develop our craft. |
A creative writing course can help to bring your best writing to the page, and give your work the best possible chance of being more widely read and enjoyed.
