Benedict Brooks - English teacher and author.
Benedict was born in 1966 and grew up in the village of Edwinstowe in Nottinghamshire, beginning his working life at Clipstone Colliery, working in the Time and Wages office.
In 1989, with pit closures a real threat, he started an English Degree at The University of Wales, Swansea.

He qualified as an English teacher in 1994, moving to Devon to begin his teaching career.

As well as teaching English, Benedict runs a successful series of creative writing courses based at Exeter, Newton Abbot and Totnes. Benedict also offers critique of manuscripts and a one2one service to support writers
individually.
